Transparency

Transparency is a measure of the degree to which system activites are accessible to system actants

 

At the scale of formal organizations, this is complicated by issues of power, and the functional or dysfunctional requirements of privileged information. It is often described as the creation of "actionable intelligence.""

 

At the scale of the individual, this function is fulfilled by activites of the immune system of systems.

 

The internet has enabled a completely different degree of transparency. It is a double edged sword. New kinds of privacy will have to be invented. See for example,
